Foto.Guru now supports delivery to PPL pickup points. PPL, part of the DHL group, is one of the largest parcel carriers in the Czech Republic, so your customers can collect their prints and photo products at a ParcelShop around the corner or at a box they already use for other parcels.
Which countries does it work in?
For now the integration covers the Czech Republic only. The map shows PPL pickup points in Czechia, so it’s meant for photo labs and photo shops that ship to Czech customers.
How it works for your customers
When a customer chooses PPL delivery at checkout, the official PPL map opens right on your ordering page. They can search by address or city and choose:
- a ParcelShop – a staffed PPL pickup point, usually in a shop or service point,
- a ParcelBox – a self-service PPL parcel locker,
- an AlzaBox – an Alza parcel locker where PPL parcels can be collected as well.
You decide which of these types appear on the map in the PPL widget administration. If the customer pays cash on delivery, the map shows only points that accept it. ParcelBoxes and AlzaBoxes don’t accept cash on delivery, so if you offer it, keep ParcelShops switched on too.
What your photo lab sees
The pickup point chosen by the customer is saved with the order. In the order details in your Foto.Guru panel you’ll also find the point code (it starts with “KM”), which you need to create the shipment.
You then create the shipment as usual in the PPL system. For now the integration covers the customer’s choice of pickup point; creating shipments and printing labels stays with PPL.
How to turn on PPL delivery
- In the PPL widget administration, generate an API key, add the domain
app.foto.guru(and your own ordering page domain, if you use one), choose the pickup point types and activate the settings. - In Foto.Guru, go to “Integration” > “PPL”, paste the key into the “API key” field and turn on “PPL integration”.
- In “Settings” > “Delivery settings”, add or edit a delivery method and set “Pick-up point” to “PPL”.
PPL delivery is available in the BASIC and PRO plans. Step-by-step instructions are in the PPL documentation.
If you run a photo lab in the Czech Republic and would like to offer your customers delivery to the nearest PPL pickup point, start a free 30-day trial or contact us if you have any questions.
