Last year we introduced the option to collect customer reviews. Now, based on your requests, we are expanding this feature to include Google Reviews.

Collect reviews via Google Reviews

What are “Google Reviews”? These are reviews published by consumers on a business’s Google Business Profile. Adding them is made possible through the Google Business Profile service. Business owners can use it free of charge. This system primarily functions in the context of Google Maps, but it is also accessible from search results.

Review content typically appears in search results when someone enters a query matching your business name or the services you offer. These reviews are publicly visible on the internet, unlike reviews collected through Foto.Guru.

The positive impact of good reviews on a business’s reputation is well known. If you are confident in the quality of your services and customer support standards, it is well worth giving this feature a try.

To activate this feature, simply enable the Google Reviews option and search for your business in Google results using our search field under “Google Reviews link”. This will provide you with a special URL that directs customers to leave a review for your business.

Along with these changes, we have also added several additional configuration options:

Order status

You can now decide which order status triggers the email requesting a review. The available statuses are:

  • Shipped
  • Ready for pickup
  • Completed

The reason for this flexibility is that photo labs organize their workflows differently and do not always use the Completed status.

For example, if an order is for in-store pickup, the final status might be Ready for pickup, and if the order is shipped, the final status might be Shipped.

This is exactly why we introduced this option. It is important, however, that the selected status or statuses correspond to the final status for the given type of order.

Review request frequency

This option is particularly useful when dealing with returning customers. Of course, there is nothing wrong with asking for feedback on every completed order, but in some cases this might become overwhelming.

That is why we added the option to send the review request email only once every 6 months for returning customers. Customers are identified based on the email address used when placing orders.

Summary

By sending an email requesting a Google Review, you have the opportunity to increase the number of reviews you receive, which can lead to greater trust in your photo lab’s services.
